I saw small cyclamen in a friend’s garden the other day, peeping through the snow, all pink and shapely. The flowers are so striking in form and colour. And the leaves are a delight.
It reminded me of a watercolour I did last year. I was experimenting with composition outside the frame. But as always, a limited palette of the three primaries plus burnt sienna, with initial drawing in pen and ink.

beautifully done
thank you

a lovely study. I particularly like the leaves here and the blooms make a wonderful abstract.
my inner textile artist probably channelled silk painting into this.. the flower and leaf shapes would lend themselves to that very well ~fiona
